THE LIBRARY
The renovation of the Walt Whitman Library in Brooklyn, New York dedicated to banned books transformed it into a vibrant haven for all ages. The space was divided into intimate reading nooks with plush seating and soft, organic shapes, providing private retreats for deep reading. The children’s area features playful colors and whimsical patterns to spark imagination, while adult zones offer calming, sophisticated designs. A versatile event space with dynamic, nature-inspired elements was also included for book discussions and community events. Throughout, lively colors and natural forms blend to create a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere that celebrates the freedom to read.
