Modular Harmony: From Physical to Digital Design

In a project focused on creating a three-dimensional box assembled from multiple pieces, the process began with sketching and conceptualizing small cubes to form a seamless 8x8x8 inch structure, balancing structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. After finalizing the physical box, the design was translated into a digital format using Rhino software, ensuring precision and alignment. Working in teams, we reconfigured our models according to specific rules to foster creativity and constraints. Inspired by Bijou Jain's architectural masterpiece, The Tara House, I incorporated his distinctive style into the project, experimenting with different arrangements and producing drawings that varied in technical detail and abstract expression. This approach highlighted the creative potential in manipulating spatial arrangements within the design process.
